Floundering again over you

Faring the fight from my wayward run

I run from the fight for you, my son

Dipping and curving and riding the wave

The sun has shied away from the brave

My heart was shelled from within its ribcage

Reluctantly held in a fit of red rage

Fighting and running and floundering away from you

Only to hide what is desperately raw and true
