The Fight You Never Knew

There was once a fight that pure impatience incurred

Every few months its wrath inside minds blurred

And it couldn’t be held by the dried soil

And it couldn’t undergo the toil

Of liquids and waves and licks

Nor held up by any ship

It couldn’t be stripped

It was a mystery

In humanity’s history

Pushed and pulled around

Flattened and crushed on the ground

Helpless and angry and about to explode

The fight was deep, powerful, sure to implode

But it would never, ever let anyone ever know
