life, poetry, thoughts

I Know What I Don’t Know

I don’t know you and I don’t know if I want to

I know your words and I know your motive

I have seen the light behind your hair and head

And I’ve seen the sad loneliness by your bed

I know why you left and where you are

I know that you want to stay that far

Away from everything you knew and where you grew

I know that you are definitely all the way through

I don’t know your true face or your eyes

I don’t know but I suspect your natural lack of lies

I know you are waiting and will wait to see me

But I don’t know if us two are meant to be free
